Whilst wandering around Sainsbury’s the other day a colleague at work made an impressive find – Beef Monster Munch!

Why so impressive? Well I can only ever find them in Pickled Onion flavour and they are minging! They were delicious and better than how I remembered them as a kid.
Not a lot to say about this photo apart from delicious! Chilli and Rice with a Pitta on the side, a sprinkling of Cheddar cheese and a pitta bread to fill. Yum Yum.

Cooking has been something that I have enjoyed for a long time now and over the years I have built up a collection of recipes that I have made for various occasions and everyday meals. Therefore I decided to launch my recipe website and the great thing about this is that you can also get involved!

My new website which I have decided to call Recipe Share can be found on a sub domain of my main domain markdw.co.uk.
You can get involved because you can add your recipes to the site too. You will need to register and then you can publish your recipes. Also I hope that people will comment on recipes that they get off the site in order to find the best ones.
Take a look at the site and register to get started in finding recipes from various people. Happy cooking everyone!

BBC Good Food – good recipes and great photos!

Who doesn’t like biscuits? Well not me anyway. I tend to have a nibble on them most days as the snack tin at work is usually well stocked. However I am often asked which is my favourite biscuit? A question which I find really hard to answer.
The reason being that I have so many favourites, it depends on the occasion and accompanying beverage. Lets start with
the creams. The two that stand out here are the Bourbon creams and the custard creams (which actually taste absolutely nothing like custard but what the hell!). Both of these are excellent for dunking in a cup of tea or coffee. Not sure why really but it is something to do with the beverage soaking the creamy bit and turning it into a gooey mess. However you have to be careful on the length of dunking time which is a key factor with these biscuits. It seems as thought there is a critical time for dunking. Too short and you hardly noticed the biscuit being dunked and too long and it is a goner in your brew!
Next up would have to come the digestive biscuits. Nowadays they come in all shapes and sizes and also in many different flavours. The two favourites have to be chocolate coated (preferably dark chocolate which is weird because I don’t like dark chocolate on its own) and the plain. I prefer these not to be dunked into the brew. They stand up on their
own very well without a liquid addition.
Last but not least come the hobnobs. These are the all time favourite dunkers. As Peter Kay said they will drink your brew in a matter of seconds and there is no risk at all of them collapsing into the cup. They will easily withstand several dunkings before breaking.
So there you have it these are my favourite biscuits for different occasions however there are others that I like. It is a similar question as to what film is your favourite as there are just to many to choose from. I guess I just like biscuits!

Yesterday evening I had a crisis. Not a major one but it did mean that, for now at least, sandwiches of a certain variety would no longer be on the menu. The crisis was that I had run out of Picalily.
Well Peter Kay said he would rather “lick his own ass hole” than eat it but I don’t care – its good. You may well be thinking why doesn’t this fool just buy some more from the supermarket? Well I would but my family have made their
own Piccalilli for some time now and it outshines bought Piccalilli by a long long way. It has got to the stage now that I can no longer eat the shop bought stuff as it tastes completely different.
The best use of this product is to eat it along with some corned beef on a sandwhich. The recipe is simple. Buy a tin of corned beef, brown bread, and the famous Piccalilli. Note the absence of any margarine or spread of any kind. I have never eaten this on sandwiches and this goes along way to creating this delicious sandwich. It is always best to chill the corned beef in the fridge for a couple of hours before slicing as it collapses otherwise.
So if you are reading mum and dad, please, please, please get making another batch quickly!
