Today saw the arrival of my new toy – my brand new Mac Mini.  I am going to be using this to store much of my media content (videos and music) so that I can connect it to the sound system downstairs and we can have music around the downstairs of the house.

I am going to blog about the setup that I am using shortly, probably over on my techy blog (equalmark.net) when I finally get a design on the go.  But essentially what this means is that all the computers in the house are sharing one music library (the same files) and therefore when you add or change something with one computer it reflects on all the others.  Looking forward to see how this is going to work.

Opening my rather pointless NUT magazine that I receive on a quarterly or monthly basis, for once there was something contained within the mountains of flyers that I thought was actually any good.  Some interesting vouchers for B&Q.

The vouchers offered 15% off everything which I suppose is nothing new.  But the interesting thing that caught my eye was the section that said;

and thats on top of any other offers!

This is something that doesn’t always happen.  It seems at the moment B&Q and many other DIY stores are all having their 10% weekends so maybe I can combine the two and get some real bargains.  Time to board out the loft I think!

After just a few hours of enjoying Spike he was looking a little sad  I was gutted!

These days you can never have enough storage.  Everything we have seems to consume large amounts of space on our computers and therefore it is essential that we have lots of storage.  This Western Digital My Passport pocket hard drive does the job for me.

For a while now I have backed everything up to my Apple Time Capsule (500Gb) which has worked really well. However I have always thought that I should really have an off-site backup. I mean what if the worse was to happen and the house burnt down I would of course loose my computer, but I would always have the backup?  Wrong as the backup is also in my house.

This is the reason that I carry around this little 320Gb pocket drive to keep a reasonably up-to-date version of my files on so that I always have a couple of backups to fall back on.

A rather strange but addictive toy, Spike is made of rubbery plastic and lights up when he is thrown about.  Beats a tennis ball any day!

Whilst wandering around Sainsbury’s the other day a colleague at work made an impressive find – Beef Monster Munch!

Why so impressive?  Well I can only ever find them in Pickled Onion flavour and they are minging!  They were delicious and better than how I remembered them as a kid.

Not a lot to say about this photo apart from delicious!  Chilli and Rice with a Pitta on the side, a sprinkling of Cheddar cheese and a pitta bread to fill.  Yum Yum.
